A giant leaves the River Tyne.These photos were taken just after midday in very strange lighting conditions. A huge ship - the Hual Paris, one of a fleet of similar vessels, slips silently out of theriver. Alongside, the Pilot vessel is dwarfed.

Now approaching the Tyne Entrance, overhead the sun is partly obscured by thin cloud.
Resembles moonlight rather than sunlight.

Leaving the River - the South Pier Lighthouse appears minuscule alongside.

Once out of the River it quickly gained speed as it headed out to sea.
