Photos of the QE2 Visit to the River Tyne in September 2007.These photos were taken from North Shields in September 2007 when the QE2 finally entered the River Tyne at the fourth attempt. After heavy rain the sun shone, water cannon sprayed from fire fighting tugs and fireworks crackled overhead. History in the making and a sight unlikely to be seen again rewarded those who had stayed. The photos may take a while to load depending on your connection speed.

Fireworks exploded overhead as the QE2 passed between the piers to enter the River Tyne.
Tugs awaited the ship under the firework smoke and sun reddened sky. |
